Internet betting company UKBetting is jumping on the online poker bandwagon with the launch of its new poker portal on its European gaming site, GoldBet.com. The new offering presents playing options for a number of poker games including Texas Hold'em, 7 Card Stud, Omaha High/Low and Omaha High. Aside from its poker offering, the site also proffers a variety of casino games, such as blackjack, slots and table games.
After launching the new poker and casino sites, the company saw a rise on shares of 3.5 percent.
In the past year, online gaming sites constituted some of the most successful ventures on the internet, due in part to technological developments such as the advent of broadband internet. With the success of internet casino sites, some companies are trying to break into the stock exchange, with flotation anticipated for online poker company PartyGaming and online casino 888.com.
