How is the tournament set up?
The first round starts at 10 a.m. today and Sunday. Sign-in begins at 8 a.m. Registration is limited to the first 2,500 people.
Late arrivals will be accepted between 10 and 11 a.m., but those players will be penalized chips.
Walk-ups can register each morning of the event starting at 8 a.m.
Players will be placed at 278 tables, each of which seats nine people.
Play will continue until one player is left and has all the chips. The winner from each day's morning session will win an expenses-paid trip for two to Las Vegas.
How do I qualify for the final?
The top 100 finishers from each day's main qualifying event earn a spot in the April 17 final.
Those who participated in the morning session but were eliminated can enter a second-chance round, which begins at 3 p.m. that same day. The top 10 players from that round will advance to the April 17 final.
You cannot play in the second- chance game unless you participated in the morning session.
Can players drink or smoke?
Beverages, including beer, and munchies will be sold and served at the tables by a waitstaff.
There will be two designated smoking areas outside the Pavilion. No smoking is allowed inside the building.
Are spectators allowed?
Bleachers will be set up for those who wish to watch the tournament. However, spectators won't be able to get close enough to see actual hands, and nonplayers are not allowed on the floor.
What if I can't attend this weekend?
Qualifying play will continue in the same format on Feb. 19, Feb. 20, March 19, March 20 and April 16.
