ST. PAUL — State lawmakers will gather Saturday in St. Cloud to play Texas Hold'em poker at the invitation of Sen. Dave Kleis, R-St. Cloud.
Kleis announced Thursday he is hosting the tournament — scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday at the Granite Bowl, 1740 St. Germain St. — to demonstrate support for a bill he introduced at the Legislature this year to legalize the popular poker tournaments.
The bill, SF317/HF519, is headed for a hearing next week in the House Agriculture, Veterans and Gaming committee.
There is no entry fee and no money will be wagered in the tournament, which is open only to legislators, Kleis said.
