Poker run scheduled to benefit U.S. troops

A poker run to support the troops overseas will be hosted by the Blacksheep of Houma and sponsored by the Blue Knights VI Chapter on Saturday, March 19.

Bikes, buses, cars, trucks and motorcycles are welcome to participate in the fundraiser, which begins at Creole Lanes in Houma. The final stop is at Mike Bruno’s Harley-Davidson, also located in Houma.

Registration begins at 8 a.m. The first vehicle will leave at 8:30 a.m. and the last vehicle is set to depart at 10:30 a.m. The last vehicle will be in by 2 p.m. The cost is $25 per bike and $30 per couple. Rain or shine, the poker run will be held.

Included in the day’s activities are an auction, live bands and door prizes. Plate lunches will be available at a cost of $5 per person. Riders eat free.

Participants must be 21 or older to play a hand of poker. The prizes for the top three hands are $1,000, $500 and $250.
