The Muskegon-Oceana-Newaygo chapter of the American Red Cross will host a "poker run" to benefit the charity Feb. 12, at Ben and Irene's Freeman Inn, at 10193 N. Dickinson Rd., near Walkerville. All proceeds will go to the local Red Cross chapter.
The poker run will involve going to businesses throughout the Walkerville area, including various restaurants, bars and grocery stores, to pick up poker chips that will be used later that evening for games of poker. Participants may use their snowmobiles or cars to make the trek.
The poker chip run will end 6 p.m., and the participants then return to the Freeman Inn for games of poker for prizes, a silent auction and live music.
A $10 donation is required and registration begins Feb. 7, at the Freeman Inn, or after 10 a.m. the day of the event. For registration information, call (231) 873-7007.
Questions regarding the event may be directed to the American Red Cross at (231) 720-4234 or 1-800-813-8111.
