A man wearing a mask that partially covered his face and who implied he had a gun robbed an Arabi restaurant of its video poker money Saturday night, authorities said.
No one was injured in the 11:30 p.m. incident at Gerald's Restaurant, 6901 St. Claude Ave., and the amount stolen was not released by sheriff's officials. The unidentified man, who specifically asked for video poker money, fled, authorities said.
An employee said the man wore a white mask, a black hooded jacket and gloves. He kept his right hand inside his shirt and said he had a gun and would fire if necessary. The employee said she thought she saw the barrel of a gun, according to a sheriff's report.
The robber made the employee lie on the ground after taking the money and then he fled, the sheriff's report said.
