I am deeply irked by the controversy surrounding teenagers playing poker in their own home.
People should be rejoicing in the fact that teenagers are having fun while in a safe environment. Instead of being at an unsupervised party getting drunk or high, these teenagers are choosing to play cards for minimal amounts of money - probably less than what they would spend if they went to the movies that night.
Playing card games should be recognized for what it is: a safe, fun activity that teenagers can enjoy in a supervised setting without alcohol. - Amanda Glaser, Scottsdale
