(AP) — MORE GAMES: The state Lottery Commission approves allowing bars and taverns to add slot machine-style games to video poker machines.
WHEN: Plans are to offer the slot games to the businesses by July 1, subject to approval of what share of net income from the new games retailers can keep.
WHY: Gov. Ted Kulongoski directed the commission to offer slot games to raise an estimated $60 million a year in added revenue to fund the state police.
