GoldenPalace.com has agreed to shell out $15,100 for the rights to advertise on the bunny's physique. The deal was completed on March 31, 2005 at online auction giant Ebay.com. The ended auction can be viewed here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/
The seller, Jeremy Enke, a young online marketing professional and a very capable poker player has agreed to enter the $10,000 Main Event and wear the bunny suit while playing. The auction also stipulates that he wear the suit anywhere he goes in public for the entire week the tournament is being played, the event begins on July 7. Jeremy's daily experiences while wearing the suit will be documented in his blog at http://www.PinkPokerBunny.com. The events of the week will likely be quite different from Enke's normal routine of either playing at or promoting PartyPoker.com.
GoldenPalace.com, an online casino corporation, has grabbed headlines on many occasions by paying large sums for similar offbeat advertising ideas, most coming from Ebay Auctions. In the recent past they have purchased a ghost's walking cane, a Virgin Mary grilled cheese sandwich, a silicon breast implant that was once utilized by a Playboy Cover Girl and many other such oddities. Most recently they paid $15,199 to have a Knoxville TN woman legally change her name to GoldenPalace.com.
With all the media attention the World Series of Poker now attracts, GoldenPalace.com may have stumbled onto a real bargain with this auction. An estimate on this year's Main Event has the number of entrants ranging from 3500-6500 players. With the coverage provided by ESPN and shown during Primetime, the Pink Bunny is sure not to go unnoticed.
