Winner Negreanu

Daniel lays it out very clearly: "I will play cash games exclusively at the Wynn when I'm in Vegas, but am free to play in tournaments all over town."

The idea that perhaps poker's finest tournament player would lock himself out of events at other properties in Vegas is tenuous at best, and it turns out it's not true. The lucrative deal with Wynn also does not preclude cash games held in other areas, such as California, New Jersey, and Canada. I also asked Negreanu whether there were any plans for Wynn to hold a major poker event in the coming months and he said that none were set in stone as of today. I have no doubt that Wynn will be a major player in poker through the rest of 2005 and into 2006, it's only a matter of when. When the first big event happens, Daniel will be front-and-center in any marketing effort. His exclusive deal is another one of those watershed moments in the growth of the game.
