Aristocrat’s European subsidiary has signed an exclusive distribution agreement with a part of the SmartGames Group that formed a special subsidiary, Aurora, for the purpose of distributing Aristocrat gaming machines throughout Russia.
Aristocrat’s CEO Paul Oneile said that the large and fast-expanding Russian market is now believed to be one of the world’s top five buyers of gaming machines, and his company means to build a strong long-term business in the country.
Gaming machines by Aristocrat will be sold by Russia’s biggest casino and gaming equipment distributor Unicum.
Earlier this year Aristocrat’s competitor Ainsworth Game Technology held talks with Unicum over the sale of a majority stake in the company. It was announced afterwards, that finding an agreement had become too complex.
