Daniel Negreanu Wins Over $750K Poker Prize at WSOP Circuit Event in Mississippi

This weekend saw poker pro Daniel Negreanu walk away with a purse of over three-quarters of a million dollars. The $755,525 payday comes to Negreanu after a win at the prestigious WSOP circuit event in Tunica. The Canadian, who was competing against dozens of other competitors, took the top prize in the $10,000 buy-in No-Limit Texas Hold 'em main poker event. The win marks a turnaround for Negreanu, who had had a dry spell in poker tournaments as of late.

Negreanu seemed quite pleased with his poker-playing performance, at least according to the comment he posted in his personal blog. Crediting himself with staying out of chancy situations, Negreanu attributed his good fortune to making "some good reads" and setting up "the perfect table image against each and every opponent." The evening's final poker hand saw Negreanu holding a higher kicker than second-place finisher Bryant King, who took home over $400,000 as runner-up.
